Prayer Times in Auckland

Today in Auckland (Sunday, 8 November 2026, 28 Jumada al-Ula 1448 AH), Fajr is at 04:30, sunrise at 06:09, Dhuhr at 13:06, Asr at 16:52, Maghrib at 20:01 and Isha at 21:34 local time (UTC+13).

The times are calculated for -36.8485°, 174.7633° with the Muslim World League (Fajr 18°, Isha 17°) method, the convention most widely used in New Zealand, and the Standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) rule for Asr. Your local mosque may add a few minutes of precaution or use a different method, so its timetable takes precedence.

The qibla from Auckland is 261° from true north (W), on the great-circle route to the Ka'bah 15,365 km away. Today at 18:32 the sun stands exactly in the direction of the qibla, so shadows point directly away from it, an easy way to check the direction without a compass.

On the December solstice, the longest day of the year in Auckland, Fajr is at 04:06, Maghrib at 20:40 and Isha at 22:24; the time from Fajr to Maghrib, the length of a fast, is 16 h 34 min. On the June solstice, Fajr is at 06:01 and Maghrib at 17:12, a fast of only 11 h 11 min.

Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier every year, so over a 33-year cycle the fasting day in Auckland ranges between these two lengths. See the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Auckland for suhoor and iftar times.
