Prayer Times in Giza

Today in Giza (Sunday, 8 November 2026, 28 Jumada al-Ula 1448 AH), Fajr is at 04:46, sunrise at 06:14, Dhuhr at 11:40, Asr at 14:41, Maghrib at 17:03 and Isha at 18:23 local time (UTC+2).

The times are calculated for 30.0131°, 31.2089° with the Egyptian General Authority of Survey (Fajr 19.5°, Isha 17.5°) method, the convention most widely used in Egypt, and the Standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) rule for Asr. Your local mosque may add a few minutes of precaution or use a different method, so its timetable takes precedence.

The qibla from Giza is 136° from true north (SE), on the great-circle route to the Ka'bah 1,287 km away. Today at 09:04 the sun stands exactly in the direction of the qibla, so shadows point directly away from it, an easy way to check the direction without a compass.

On the June solstice, the longest day of the year in Giza, Fajr is at 04:08, Maghrib at 19:59 and Isha at 21:33; the time from Fajr to Maghrib, the length of a fast, is 15 h 51 min. On the December solstice, Fajr is at 05:14 and Maghrib at 16:59, a fast of only 11 h 45 min.

Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier every year, so over a 33-year cycle the fasting day in Giza ranges between these two lengths. See the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Giza for suhoor and iftar times.
