Prayer Times in Calgary

Today in Calgary (Sunday, 8 November 2026, 28 Jumada al-Ula 1448 AH), Fajr is at 07:06, sunrise at 08:41, Dhuhr at 13:21, Asr at 15:32, Maghrib at 17:58 and Isha at 19:33 local time (UTC-6).

The times are calculated for 51.0447°, -114.0719° with the Islamic Society of North America (Fajr & Isha 15°) method, the convention most widely used in Canada, and the Standard (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) rule for Asr. Because Calgary lies above 48° latitude, Fajr and Isha around midsummer follow the "seventh of the night" rule, as the sun does not sink far enough below the horizon. Your local mosque may add a few minutes of precaution or use a different method, so its timetable takes precedence.

The qibla from Calgary is 25° from true north (NNE), on the great-circle route to the Ka'bah 11,562 km away.

On the June solstice, the longest day of the year in Calgary, Fajr is at 04:18, Maghrib at 21:55 and Isha at 22:59; the time from Fajr to Maghrib, the length of a fast, is 17 h 37 min. On the December solstice, Fajr is at 07:54 and Maghrib at 17:32, a fast of only 9 h 38 min.

Ramadan moves about 11 days earlier every year, so over a 33-year cycle the fasting day in Calgary ranges between these two lengths. See the Ramadan 2027 timetable for Calgary for suhoor and iftar times.
