Eid al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, begins on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah, the day after the Day of Arafah, while pilgrims perform Hajj. The sacrifice can be offered from after the Eid prayer until sunset on the 13th (the 12th in the Hanafi and Maliki schools).
Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court announces the start of Dhu al-Hijjah after the crescent sighting, which fixes the dates of Hajj and of Eid al-Adha in Makkah.
